Sumptuous Settings

While traveling up to Lake George for my step son’s wedding, we had the opportunity to do a little sight seeing. Along route 9N which hugs the shores of Lake George is a small town of Bolten Landing which is the home of Sumptuous Settings Antiques.

Behind the gates is the gatehouse which houses a treasure of antiques that is worth the trip. To try an describe it would not do it justice so here are some photos of the treasures inside.

And what a surprise!

These doors lead to what was once a home for horses that was part of a larger estate.

Here is another shot of these doors…

and OH! what TREASURES!

My eyes were kept busy…

abundance of glass and china…

from vintage hats to vintage paintings…

and the murals behind them…

Fabulous murals that covered the bricked walls!

and on the ceiling in the foyer…

with mirrors and frames reflecting the light electric and natural.

and of course stained glass…

This is but a taste, or just the tip of the ice burg.
